Lena Dunham is getting slammed on Twitter after posting a joke about wanting to marry Hunter Biden and spend the holidays with the First Family.

On Thursday, the actress and writer took to Twitter and talked about her future plans in the romance department.
She tweeted: 'I cannot wait to spend holidays at the White House when I am Hunter Biden’s beautiful wife.'
Twitter users slammed Dunham's joke, with some making fun of her appearance and others taking more innocent shots.
User Powell Mansfield responded with an image of Kristen Wiig in character from Bridesmaids making a disturbed face.
User @SullyWins decided to make it a duel of sorts, saying 'I regret to inform you that I, too, dream of one day marrying Hunter Biden,' adding in a GIF saying 'There can only be one!'
One person simply responded with three crying of laughter emojis.

This drew some mixed reactions and eye rolling on Twitter, with many trolling Dunham
There was at least one user who seemed to have a similar idea about courting Hunter Biden
But most people just thought it was funny, albeit in questionable taste all things considered
One user, @realcarlytravis, called Dunham's tweet an 'interesting brand move.'
Meanwhile, @heleenamck tweeted, 'Well sure if there's ever a movie version about them. But in real life, I think he's very much taken.'

One person was smart enough to point out that Hunter Biden is already married
That pointed out one of the flaws in Dunham's logic, as Hunter Biden is already married, having wed Melissa Cohen in 2019.
The two had a son, Beau, in March 2020, who quickly became one of the stars of Joe Biden's first day as president.
Some also used Dunham's tweet as an opportunity to mock Hunter, who has famously dealt with alcohol and drug addiction throughout his life.
Contents from Biden's laptop were revealed last year after he left it at a computer repair shop, and its contents were ultimately handed over to Rudy Giuliani.
It contained several disturbing photos of Biden in various states of undress, including one where he appears to be smoking a crack pipe.
Hunter, who has spoken openly of his battle with drugs, was also revealed in emails to have been planning a Chinese deal which mentioned '10 [per cent] for the big guy,' which his would-be business partner said was Joe Biden.

There were fears that the laptop pictures would expose Hunter Biden to blackmail, although it didn't ultimately impede the ability of Joe Biden to ascend to the Oval Office.
Dunham has been no stranger to courting controversy over the course of her life in the limelight after creating the popular HBO series Girls.

Together, they had a son Beau who is named after his uncle and stole the show on Wednesday
In 2016, she characterized NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. as someone who was objectifying her at the Met Gala, despite him never saying anything of the sort to her.
Later that year, she expressed a desire to have an abortion to better relate to women who underwent the procedure, which she later apologized for on Instagram.
