Schitt's Creek star/creator Dan Levy CALLS OUT Comedy Central India for removing a kiss between two men in a promo video
Just weeks after Schitt's Creek closed out its six-season run by sweeping the comedy awards at the Emmys, series star and co-creator Dan Levy called out Comedy Central India for censorship.
The 37-year-old actor and writer quote retweeted a March 2019 tweet from Comedy Central India, featuring a promo video from the fifth Season 5 episode Homecoming.
The video features a house party scene with Levy's character, David Rose, who kisses Ted Mullens (Dustin Milligan) during a game of spin the bottle, though Comedy Central India cut that scene from their broadcast, which Levy took issue with.

The scene opened with Stevie (Emily Hampshire) instructed by David to continue the game, even though she doesn't want to kiss anyone.
She spins and it lands on David's sister Alexis (Annie Murphy) and they kissed briefly,, which was shown in the scene.
The video also showed the scene where Alexis and her boyfriend Ted kiss, but when Ted spins the bottle and it lands on David, and Ted kisses him, the kiss itself is awkwardly cut out of the video.

While the tweet was posted a year and a half ago, Levy quote-retweeted it on Tuesday, calling out the same-sex kiss being cut.
'You showed the kiss between two women, you showed the kiss between a woman and a man, then removed the kiss between two men?' Levy asked.
'This is a show about the power of inclusivity. The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement against that message,' he concluded with the hashtag #loveislove
He later had to clarify that his comments were directed towards Comedy Central India, not the flagship Comedy Central network.

'I thought I made this pretty clear but for those who are confused, this is about a channel in India,' he stated.
'@ComedyCentral in America is not censoring the show. They have been lovely and respectful. Thank you for your time,' he concluded, with the peace sign emoji and the upside down smiley face emoji.

The show picked up Outstanding Comedy Series, along with Outstanding Writing (Dan Levy) and Outstanding Directing (Dan Levy and Andrew Cividino).
It also won all four of the acting awards, with Catherine O'Hara winning Outstanding Lead Actress, Annie Murphy winning Outstanding Supporting Actress and Dan Levy and his father Eugene Levy winning Outstanding Lead Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actor.
Fans also got a bit of a surprise when the sixth and final season arrived on Netflix four days earlier than it's scheduled debut.
