CBS News Asks Omar If She Regrets Anti-Semitic Comments

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) said in an interview that aired on Wednesday morning that she does not regret the multiple anti-Semitic comments that she has made.

Appearing on CBS News' "CBS This Morning," Omar was asked by Gayle King about some of the inflammatory statements she made earlier this year. For example, Omar has implied that American Jews have dual loyalty to Israel and has averred that the only reason American pro-Israel organizations support Israel is due to financial interests.
"Oftentimes there are things that you might say, might not hold weight for you, but to someone else, right, the way that we hear and consume information is very different than how the next person might," Omar said.
"So you don't regret your words either?" King asked.
"I do not," Omar responded. "But I have gotten the, I am grateful for the opportunity to really learn how my words made people feel and have taken every single opportunity I've gotten to make sure that people understood that I apologize for it and I never really want them to-"

"Would you like people to, would you want to make it clear that you are not anti-Semitic?" King asked.
"Oh, certainly not," Omar responded. "Yes."

"Would you like to make that clear?" King asked.
"Yes, I mean and that — nothing I said, at least to me, was meant for that purpose," Omar said.
