Ocasio-Cortez Blames American NRA For New Zealand Attack, Mocks Those Who Pray

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez used the tragic terrorist attack against Muslims in New Zealand to attack the National Rifle Association.
The NRA is an American organization that is committed to protecting the right to bear arms in the United States and has nothing to do with any other nation, but that did not stop her.
She also took the opportunity, with at least 49 people laying dead and scores injured, to mock those who send thoughts and prayers.
“At 1st I thought of saying, “Imagine being told your house of faith isn’t safe anymore.”
“But I couldn’t say “imagine.” Because of Charleston. Pittsburgh. Sutherland Springs.
“What good are your thoughts & prayers when they don’t even keep the pews safe?” she said.

The ridiculousness and callousness of her statements caused her to be torched by people who were offended by what she said.

Pretty sure thoughts and prayers isn’t anyone’s phrase, and prayer especially (which you mocked earlier after what happened in a house of prayer?) is a real action, a petition to, a conversation with, God -- in this case, to request protection, comfort for those suffering.

Let's be real here. Thoughts and prayers IS the NRA precut response to any gun violence. Easier to send and forget than actual steps to stem the aforementioned violence.
Actually, thoughts and prayers is what people of all the major religions are doing in response to this monstrous act...thoughts and prayers unite us, and she used that phrase to divide.

You might learn this someday, but sometimes it’s best to not say anything at all.

And I can tell you for a fact that thoughts & prayers are EXTREMELY helpful

Before making a statement, first ask yourself "Am I going to have to make multiple statements to explain my first one?" If so, you should reconsider making the statement.
