Jussie Smollett Inspires AOC To Invent False Story About ‘Racist’ Fox News Hosts Attacking Her

Just call her Jussie Smollett 2.0.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez-Stalin (D-NY) is throwing a massive temper tantrum right now.
She’s upset because people keep calling her by the wrong name. And since she considers herself “The Boss,” you’d better get her name right, or else you’re a dirty, no-good racist. As a result, something very bad might just “accidentally” happen to you…
We’ve made jokes about “Ocasio-Cortez-Stalin” for months now, but apparently jokes like that can get you thrown in the Gulag.
Take, for example, AOC’s latest tirade against Fox News.
In the past 24 hours, she’s fired off a series of tweets that could only be characterized as a meltdown of epic proportions.
Here’s how it went down:
If by ‘the Latina thing,’ she means I actually do the work instead of just talk about it, then yeah, I’m doing ‘the Latina thing.’

Unless of course she‘s talking about being multilingual, which we know isn’t a ‘Latina thing.’

It’s a ‘21st century’ thing.https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/laura-ingraham-guest-mock-anastasio-093551807.html?soc_src=social-sh&soc_trk=tw

Siri, show me the brand of ‘economic anxiety’ that mocks Americans of color as unintelligent + unskilled, while *also* mocking those same Americans for speaking more languages than you: pic.twitter.com/HXBC7Osexu

“How dare they refuse to say their name in a wrong accent & not mangle their own family name so that I can feel more comfortable instead of look inside myself & examine why something as small as *a person’s name* makes me uncomfortable in the first place?? This is an outrage!”

By the way: Fox News likes to say my name (incorrectly) as “Cortez,” which I can only imagine is bc that sounds more ‘stereotypically’ Hispanic + probably incites more ‘anxiety’ for them.

Pro Tip:
My last name is not “Cortez,” just as theirs isn’t “Ingra” or “Carl” or “Hann.”

My last name is Ocasio-Cortez. Full stop. That’s my name.

No, you can’t say “Cortez.” I’ve never used that in my life. “Cortez” is referring to someone else.

Even if they‘re trying to be rude + wrong, my dad’s last name was Ocasio anyway.

(His name was hyphenated too, though.)

For the curious, in Latinx culture children take *both* their parents‘ names.

It’s not a “progressive, new thing.” It’s just how some names work. PR hyphenates, others mark differently. Your last name = the families that came together to make you.

AOC is also fine though :)

The only problem? Multiple sources say it never even happened.
Yup, AOC just made the whole thing up.
Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attacked Fox News, claiming hosts on that network intentionally called her by the wrong name.
“By the way: Fox News likes to say my name (incorrectly) as ‘Cortez,’” she tweeted Wednesday, “which I can only imagine is bc that sounds more ‘stereotypically’ Hispanic [and] probably incites more ‘anxiety’ for them.”
Ocasio-Cortez specifically mentioned Fox News hosts Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity, referring to them as “Ingra,” “Carl” and “Hann” to drive her point home.
There’s only one problem with her accusation: it appears to be false. Tom Elliott, founder of Grabien media-clipping service, noted that in a search from the beginning of March to the current date — 20 days worth of programming — Ingraham had never once referred to the freshman lawmaker as “Cortez.”
Unless @aoc has something to back up this claim, it would seem she owes apologies to Hannity and Ingraham. Randomly accusing people of prejudice is indecent, esp when it will inevitably be used for more boycott fodder.
The only person I’ve noticed who obsesses over AOC being Hispanic is AOC herself. It’s a constant topic. Conservative media generally focus on her overzealous Green New Deal, her sketchy campaign finance issues, and her frequent hypocrisy.

The Daily Caller performed a similar search over the same time period and discovered that Carlson had never addressed Ocasio-Cortez by any name other than “Ocasio-Cortez” or “AOC” (which she also said was fine).
Yet another search revealed that the only possible offender was Hannity, who referred to Ocasio-Cortez by just the second half of her last name just twice in 20 days. He named her correctly, however, well over 100 times in that same timeframe, so it may be reasonable to assume that, had he actually been intending to call her by the wrong name, it probably would have happened more than 2 percent of the time.
Ocasio-Cortez’s accusation appeared to be a response to segment from Ingraham’s show Tuesday, during which the Fox News host and guest Joe di Genova accused the New York Rep. of effectively turning her accent on and off when it suited her — much in the same way that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been noted to revert to her Arkansas accent when campaigning in certain parts of the country. …
In the past hour, she lashed out at Fox News again:

You know what’s amusing about this whole thing?

Our leg staff (who help w Qs) *also* worked in restaurants, grew up in Appalachian trailer parks, and come from immigrant families.

Wait until they find out I actually PAY them to do their jobs, coach them myself,& offer feedback.
