Actor Who Played Mr. Feeny On 'Boy Meets World' Opens Up About Thwarted Burglary: ‘That’s the Whole Damn Story’ (7 Pics)

If you grew up on ABC's "Boy Meets World," you know two things: Cory and Topanga's love is true; and reliable Mr. Feeny will somehow cure all ills.
The latter seems to transcend the TV screen.
William Daniels — the actor who starred as Mr. Feeny, Cory's neighbor and the school principal, on the 90's hit — thwarted a real-life burglary at his home on Saturday evening.
Speaking to Good Morning America, Daniels, 91, said, "I struggled with an intruder, took him to the ground, I beat him up and he ran away with bruises all over him."
Wow, Mr. Feeny is not taking any nonsense, even at 91 years old!
Okay, okay, so he was kidding about those specifics: "Would you like to print that?" he followed up. "You better not. It's a total lie."
The truth is, said Daniels, he and his wife, 89-year-old Bonnie Bartlett, were sleeping in their home when they heard glass shatter from what seemed like their front door. Bartlett screamed, and Daniels got up and hit the light. The would-be robber was scared enough to quickly leave their home.
"We were asleep and I heard bang, bang, bang," he recalled. "I lit the light and Bonnie screamed and this person fled and that’s the whole damn story!"
"We were stunned," added Bartlett. "Nothing like that has ever happened."
On Tuesday, Daniels' "media team" posted a message to the actor's Twitter account to inform fans of the incident.
"Someone tried to break in to the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Daniels on Saturday evening. Luckily, Mr. Daniels was able to frighten away the person and the LAPD quickly responded. They are both well. Mr Daniels thanks all his fans for their concern," says the tweet.
As you can imagine, the Internet erupted with some pretty incredible Mr. Feeny-inspired takes.
"Please tell me that my man sat the burglar down, put a pot of coffee on, and rattled off a metaphor-riddled soliloquy that touched the burglar on such a personal level he quit the life of crime to work full-time at a dog shelter," wrote one user.
(There's no way this didn't happen.)
"I'll say it again, DON'T MESS WITH FEENY!" said another Twitter user.
Another tweet simply read, "Go Mr Feeny!"

And, of course, there were also some good "1776" takes; Daniels played John Adams in the Broadway production of "1776."
"According to reports Mr Daniels scared off the intruder by shouting, 'Is anybody there? Does anybody care? Does anybody see what I see?!?!'" wrote a commenter. "Grateful Mr Daniels is ok!!"
During the GMA interview, Daniels again downplayed the ordeal and made it clear that he and wife were unharmed during the incident.
"I don't know how this whole story got out to everybody but we’re getting all these calls," he said. "But nobody’s harmed! We're calm and collected here."
However, the couple will be getting an alarm system.
"The couple noted that they spoke to their son about getting a new alarm system after the ordeal and then went back to bed," notes US Magazine.
Investigators on the case do not believe the couple was targeted, but a random invasion.
