The woman who reportedly spit on Eric Trump at a high-end establishment in Chicago could be set to benefit from her actions, as a crowdfunding page was set up in her name.
According to Fox News, the crowdfunding page received "over $4,000 out of the $5,000 goal under 10 hours."
What are the details?
The outlet reported that a page is raising money for the restaurant employee who allegedly engaged with Trump on Tuesday night, spitting in the president's son's face.
The incident reportedly took place at Aviary in Chicago, Illinois. A spokesperson for the restaurant group said that the woman was put on leave upon investigation into the "unfortunate" matter.
Secret Service also reportedly intervened in the incident.
Fox reported that the GoFundMe page read, "My friend allegedly spat on Eric Trump and got fired. That's what happens when we bring the crises from our neighborhoods to the people causing/getting rich off those crise [sic]. I want to make sure she's good to go until she finds a new job, and that she won't have to worry about paying any legal fees etc."
Trump said that the person who reportedly spit on him "clearly has emotional problems."
In a statement, he told Breitbart, "It was purely a disgusting act by somebody who clearly has emotional problems. For a party that preaches tolerance, this once again demonstrates that [Democrats] have very little civility. When somebody is sick enough to resort to spitting on someone, it just emphasizes a sickness and desperation and the fact that we're winning."
A WMAQ-TV reporter revealed that the U.S. Secrete Service did take a woman into custody in connection with the incident, but it is not clear at the time of this writing as to whether the woman is facing charges.
