Ohio GOP Censures Never-Trump Lawmaker for Voting to Impeach President Trump – Then Party Calls for Him to Resign

 

Ohio Republicans censured Rep. Anthony Gonzales this week after he voted in January to impeach President Trump.

Gonzalez is the final representative to be censured in his state.

Then the state Republicans went a step further and called for him to resign!

Yet another state Republican party is censuring a Republican member of Congress who voted to impeach Donald Trump.

This time it’s in Ohio, where the state GOP’s Central Committee voted Friday to censure Congressman Anthony Gonzalez, and as the Cincinnati Enquirer reported, they’re also calling on him to resign.

They censured all 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump, but Gonzalez — an Ohio representative — was rebuked in particular with a separate vote calling on him to resign.

Gonzalez defended his vote in February, and faced angry callers at a town hall for it.
