 A 95-year-old woman being transported for a heart attack has been killed when a car collided with the ambulance she was traveling in in Brooklyn.

The tragic crash occurred around 3pm on Sunday in the Flatlands neighborhood, at the intersection of Avenue N and Schenectady Avenue.

The elderly female patient was in cardiac arrest moments before the crash, the NYPD said.  

It was not immediately clear whether she died due to injuries sustained in the crash, which left the ambulance flipped onto its side, or the heart attack.

The victim's 65-year-old son was traveling in the ambulance with her and was injured in the crash but is expected to survive, authorities said.

The tragedy unfolded when a black 2002 Nissan Maxima traveling westbound collided with the ambulance, which was traveling southbound on Schenectady.
