VIDEO : Moment covidiot thugs brawl in the street using bottles and sticks as they flout lockdown rules in broad daylight

A group of around 20 'reckless' men spent their Easter Sunday breaking social distancing rules as they fought in a residential street and battered each other with bottles and sticks.

The thugs were filmed pummeling each other with weapons in Luton, Bedfordshire, at around 5.40pm on Easter Sunday. 

The video shows them walking down the street with sticks in their hands before getting into a fight with a rival gang. 

They begin shouting at each other but the interaction soon becomes violent and some of the men involved can be seen being hit repeatedly with sticks.  

One was also struck in the face with what looked like a bottle during the feisty altercation.  

The fight was shared anonymously on social media by a witness and has been viewed more than 22,000 times.

Police were called to the scene but no arrests were made and no injuries were reported.  

Bedfordshire Police described the behaviour as 'unbelievably reckless' in light of the coronavirus crisis and urged the public to help them identify those involved. 

Detective Chief Inspector Aaron Kiff said: 'We received reports of a large disorder in the Sheridan Road and Argyll Avenue area of Luton at around 5.40pm on Sunday, April 12.

'This sort of incident is unacceptable at any time but in the current climate is unbelievably reckless and will not be tolerated.

'Serious violence has no place in Bedfordshire and we are determined to take enforcement action against those involved as well as tackling its root causes such as gangs and the drugs market.

'Government funding to tackle serious violence has enabled us to run more than 100 patrols targeting gang hotspots while we are also investing in the Bedfordshire Violence and Exploitation Reduction Unit alongside our partner agencies such as local authorities and health.'
