McConnell Says the Senate Will Not Quickly Dismiss Articles of Impeachment Against Trump, ‘We’ll Have to Have a Trial’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Wednesday told reporters that there will not be a quick dismissal of Trump impeachment articles.

It would only take a simple majority vote (51 Senators) to pass a motion to dismiss — but with RINOs like Mitt Romney, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, it is unlikely to happen.

 

There are 53 Republican Senators and 45 Democrats plus 2 Independents who caucus with Dems — so it would take 20 Republican Senators to reach 67 votes to convict Trump in the Senate.

GOP Senators are giving legitimacy to the sham impeachment spawned by Eric Ciaramella, a political hack who conspired with Schiff’s staffers to launch an impeachment coup against Trump.

“I don’t think there’s any question that we have to take up the matter. The rules of impeachment are very clear, we’ll have to have a trial. My own view is that we should give people the opportunity to put the case on,” McConnell told reporters.

As far as a time frame for an impeachment trial, McConnell said, “on the issue of how long it goes on, it’s really kind of up to the Senate. People will have to conclude are they learning something new? At some point we’ll get to an end.”

Senator Rand Paul on the other hand has said that he wants to quickly dismiss any articles of impeachment that reach the Senate.

Senator Paul also said Wednesday that he wants to bring in Eric Ciaramella, the CIA whistleleaker who started the impeachment inquiry, in for testimony — the Dems may just fall into their own trap with this impeachment if Senators call in witnesses like Ciaramella to testify.

Idiot RINO Senator Richard Burr, however, said this week that the Senate Intelligence Committee will hold an impeachment trial that will last for “6 to 8 weeks.”
It will run for 6 days a week, from 12:30 to 6:30 PM. 

The Republicans are worthless and have done NOTHING to fight back against the Soviet-style impeachment inquiry which is denying Trump due process.

If the Senate holds a trial, they better go scorched earth and bring in every witness possible to damage and expose the Dems, including Eric Ciaramella.
