Meghan McCain issues ominous warning about gun-grabbers on 'The View': 'There’s going to be a lot of violence' if you take away guns

Meghan McCain told her co-hosts on "The View" that there will be a lot of violence if lawmakers attempt to take away guns from law-abiding citizens.

What did she say?

During Tuesday's season debut of the hit ABC show, McCain sounded off on gun control measures. She also professed her support for the Second Amendment, insisting that she won't "live without guns."

The panel was discussing the deadly massacre that took the lives of seven people in West Texas and injured more than 20 others over the weekend when McCain — who revealed that she "spent most of her break shooting" — issued the warning. The suspect — who was ultimately killed in an firefight with police — was reportedly able to purchase an AR-style from a private seller, and was purportedly able to circumvent a federal background check.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg said the suspect was reportedly able to purchase his weapon through a "loophole." Co-host Sunny Hostin went on to blame Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's lack of action on any weapons legislation.
McCain, however, had a decidedly different take.

"This is a ground-level issue for me," she said. "If you're going to be a gun-grabber, you don't get my vote, period. We got to have a different conversation.
"The AR-15 is by far the most popular gun in America, by far," she added. "I was just in the middle of nowhere Wyoming. If you're talking about taking people's guns from them, there's going to be a lot of violence."

Co-host Joy Behar responded, pointing to the federal assault weapons ban under former President Bill Clinton's administration in 1994.
"[T]hey lived without them for many years during the ban," Behar responded.
McCain wasn't taking the bait, though, and fired back, "I'm not living without guns. It's just that simple!"

Co-host Abby Huntsman simply expressed her fear and wished for an America where its citizens could "walk in a mall and not look around ... not be nervous that someone is going to pull out a shotgun."

"None of you feel safe?" McCain asked. "I feel safe that I can protect myself."

Anything else?

McCain also shared a tweet after the show aired featuring Clint Eastwood smoking and winking.

"Walking back into season 23 @TheView defending conservative beliefs and our #2A constitutional rights like ..."
