Reza Aslan isn’t the most familiar face among the ferocious sea of leftists who want President Donald Trump defeated in 2020 or impeached.
But the self-promotional author and host of “Rough Draft with Reza Aslan” has become one of the most disagreeable and boisterous. Don’t let his wide grin fool you.
Aslan, whose CNN series “Believer” was canceled in 2017 due to his profane anti-Trump tweets, as CNN Business reported, has now conveyed via Twitter that Trump and all of those who back him are white supremacists.
After today there is no longer any room for nuance. The President is a white nationalist terror leader. His supporters - ALL OF THEM - are by definition white nationalist terror supporters. The MAGA hat is a KKK hood. And this evil, racist scourge must be eradicated from society.

“The MAGA hat is a KKK hood. And this evil, racist scourge must be eradicated from society,” he wrote. Just imagine the type of mind that views a red cap — a piece of headwear that encourages creating a wonderful America — as so frightening that it must be eliminated from Earth.
One Twitter user hit back with a factual, sensible observation that Aslan seems incapable of constructing on social media.

The MAGA hat is a baseball cap with ample real-estate to make a patriotic statement. The KKK hood was meant to hide the wearer because they were cowards and knew they were wrong. The KKK can’t fill stadiums of happy people of all colors, and neither can Democrat’s.

Somehow, as is the case with many on the left, Aslan interprets “Make America Great Again” as race-related. How those four words can be arbitrarily translated as pro-Caucasian is beyond me, where it shall remain.
It stands to reason that a cable “news” company with CNN’s low standards once entrusted the temperamental, overzealous Aslan to host his own show.
At least the “news” network had enough sense to fire the man after he tweeted about Trump — in the aftermath of London terrorist attack on June 3, 2017 — “This piece of s— is not just an embarrassment to America and a stain on the presidency. He’s an embarrassment to humankind,” as Business Insider reported.
The fact that he was born in Tehran and grew up in Iran adds another dimension to Aslan’s anger toward our president and millions of U.S. citizens.
While tech giants from Google to Facebook to Twitter are restricting what was once considered free speech by Republicans and conservatives, evidently Aslan and his ilk may post whatever they desire on social-media platforms.
But there you have it: The man is making a name for himself by insisting that a red hat with a positive message is more dangerous than his discourse, which is actually causing additional division and resentment. He believes that misleading accusations that tar every Trump supporter with a broad brush are somehow harmless when compared with an inanimate object worn on one’s head.
Most disturbing of all, Aslan isn’t alone.
