Stunning poll shows how many Americans say President Trump is racist after 'go back' tweets

A startling new poll shows "virtually no change" in the percentage of Americans who believe President Donald Trump is racist after his controversial "go back" tweets.
The survey from Huffington Post and YouGov showed that 50 percent of Americans thought the president was racist, while 35 percent said he isn't racist.
similar survey in May found that 48 percent of Americans thought he was racist, while the same 35 percent thought he wasn't racist.
Another 60 percent of Americans said the tweets were inappropriate, while only 49 percent said they were racist, according to the YouGov poll.
The president began a firestorm of criticism with his tweets calling for four Democratic freshman minority members of Congress to go back to their home countries, despite only one being an immigrant.
The media and Democratic politicians have excoriated the president, while even some Republicans have called out the tweets as being inappropriate.
The president doubled down on his comments after the fiery criticism, but appeared to take a step back after his supporters at his rally in North Carolina chanted "send her back" about one of the targeted Democrats.
"I felt a little bit badly about it," the president said to reporters on Thursday. "I was not happy with it. I disagree with it."
separate poll on Wednesday showed support for the president actually increase among Republicans after the tweets, and decrease among Democrats. His overall support changed little at 41 percent.

  1. Polls are polls and meaningless with the demographics. Just more of the same narrative control freak nonsense.
